As she said, it is primarily a matter of moral support and the desire that Ukraine will one day truly be a member state, but she notes it is too far from candidate status and full membership.
Like her SDP colleagues and the president, she linked the issue to the Western Balkans and said there should not be double standards in that direction.
Borzan also referred to Serbia's case and the fact that it did not join the West in sanctions against Russia.
“This is not a good view in Brussels and should be stressed that the EU is currently Serbia's biggest source of money through funds and investments”, Borzan told Zagreb's N1, broadcasts the KP.
Although all attention is currently focused on Ukraine, neither BiH nor other countries in the Western Balkans are left out of focus, Borzan says.
