(4 years ago)Russian forces are largely blocked in parts of Ukraine, a senior US defence official told reporters Monday. There was no “no change” in the situation in Mariupol, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv or Kharkiv, the official said. “They have made no progress in moving to Kiev, have made no progress elsewhere [...]
“They have made no progress in moving towards Kiev, have made no progress elsewhere in the north, whether Chernihiv or Kharkiv”, the official said.
In Marioupol, Russian forces continue to use “long-range attacks”, but “have not been able to take over Mariuloline”, the official said, who also added that there has been no change in air or sea space.
Russian forces “are not making any progress in Mykolaiv over the weekend, so they're out of town”.
According to CNN, the official stressed that Russian forces have carried out more than 1,370 missile attacks in Ukraine since the beginning of the invasion.
