US, Allies Propose Russia's expulsion from G20, who is expected to replace it

The US and other Western countries are considering Russia's G20 expulsion. Reuters reports that Poland asked American officials to replace Russia in the group and that they received a “positive response”, the BBC reports.
The G20 is a grouping of the world's largest economies, which aims to co-ordinate operations on issues affecting the global economy, including climate change and development.
Such a push would increase existing economic sanctions against Russia from the West. But veto is likely to be vetoed by other key G20 countries, including China, India and Saudi Arabia.
As a result, some predict that the G7 Western allies could boycott G20 meetings this year something Indonesia, the club's current leader, has reportedly been warned about. Jakarta has refused to comment on the matter.
When American National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan was asked, he said: “We believe it cannot be business as usual for Russia in international institutions and the international community. ”
Russia has also been part of the G7 ʹ which expanded to G8 in the 2000s to accommodate Moscow in more friendly times. But he was expelled after annexing the Crimea in 2014.
