“We must prepare for a possible high-intensity armed conflict and increase investments in the army,” he said.
Marcon said the conflict between Ukraine and Russia will lead to a food crisis in the next 12 to 18 months, and this crisis will be felt in Africa and the Middle East.
Macron promised today that he would strengthen France's sovereignty if he wins his second term as president in next month's elections, in order to bring the country, as he said, during the new era of crisis.
Macron's advantage over his rivals on the eve of the elections increased following the Russian operation in Ukraine, Reuters reported.
Opinion polls released in recent weeks show that Macron will win around 30.5 per cent of the vote in the first district -- a 10 per cent increase compared to last month's polls.
