The Dukagjin era gave a new dimension to our war, which shook the Serbian machine. So central manifestation was told on the 24th anniversary of the “note Dukagjini age”.
The mayor of the Decani municipality, Bashkim Ramosaj, has been commemorating the KLA's submilimate war work for the freedom we enjoy today.
March “24 is the date that made us proud of the whole nation... to understand the greatness of this date must live and experience the time context of the years of March, just March 1998, to this time, they were boasting about our attempts at freedom and ending in arrests, imprisonment, and murder. We are in the years when it became common to behave in subjection to the persecution that the Serb conqueror and the state-owned genocide device committed against us in all life dimensions, and the glory at this time took its course, Jasharts at Haradinaj Preskaz in Glodjan... On March 24, 1998, we will honor our pride for the first time because that day we celebrated victory over the invaders, that day we triumphed as a nation. On this day eternally received glory and will have our honour of generations of warriors who killed Gazmen and Agron Mehmetaj and Him Haradinaj”, he said.
Meanwhile, Presevo Mayor Ardita Sinani expressed the honorary expression she shares in the footnote of the Dukagjin Age, saying that the sacrifice of those who fell for freedom will never be forgotten.
This village where we are here is one of the holy sites of the Albanians Glodjani of the Dukagjini Towers has traditionally stuck not only to arms, but to the idea of freedom, justice and equality. I am a citizen of Presevo who stands before you today, and I am honored to be here among you as the daughter of this country and this nation. Glogdjan is not a stranger to my fellow citizens who have fought a common war for the same purpose, but this country has not forgotten us in times of crisis and yet been attached to and heard our cries for help and our cries for freedom. I feel honored but not like a stranger, as a guest, since I am here in my house, on my trunk and my country... We actually share the boundaries, but our vote is only one, one country, one language and a sense of freedom of generations oppressed in any right of his... The sacrifice of these people and their families is great and painful for them”, she said.
Former KLA General Staff Commander Agim Ceku said the Dukagjin era gave new dimension to our war.
Our new history is full of glorious events, glorious dates. The era of Dukagjin gave a new dimension to our war, which essentially shook up the Serbian machine because they thought that with the disappearance of legendary commander Adem Yasar and the disappearance of the Jashar family, the armed efforts of our people for freedom would go away, but it did not. Dukagjini became the hearth of resistance unprecedented by then, the villages of Dukagjini, Jabllanica, Smolica became the centre of resistance, but also the training centre of KLA soldiers from all over Kosovo”, he said.
March 24th Battle Protagonist Daut Haradinaj said it is the events of March that brought freedom of our people.
“Maris marks the Janshare Age and the example of how the homeland should be, March marks the Age of Dukagjini and readiness for sacrifice, and March also marks the eternal alliance with NATO ahead of the US, and these three events and many events that followed then whether in Kostunica or anywhere in Kosovo brought freedom”, Haradinaj said.
A word before those present also held baca Rifat Jashar from the family of the legendary commander Adem Yasar.
Yasar: All those young daughters and daughters who gave their tender blood (Video) glory and respect
“We are gathered here today for the sake of God. NATO and the United States of America remember the best sons and daughters of our Albanian nation... The glory and respect of all those young daughters and daughters who gave the new blood returned the rifle to the Serbian”, Jashar said.
By contrast, it is now 24 years since the Battle of the Kosovo Liberation Army in Gllojan, otherwise known as the Dukagjin Age.
