Today marks the 24th day of war in Ukraine. Fighting has continued to intensify in the Black Sea port city of Marioupol, while evacuation efforts continue in hard-hit parts of eastern Ukraine, writes Sky News, the Periscope broadcast.
Below, read all that happened at night, so far:
-Fighting has arrived at the city centre at the southern port of Marioupolis, while some 1,300 people were trapped in ruins after an air strike in one theater;
The evacuations appear to continue on Saturday, with local authorities announcing that a humanitarian corridor will open in the eastern region of Luhansk at 7: 00 a.m.
- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asks Moscow to engage in further peace talks “without delay”.
“This is the only chance for Russia to reduce damage from its”;
-Ukraina says Russia's two main roads to attack Kiev on both sides of the Dnipro river have been blocked, according to reports by CNN;
-Three Russian cosmonauts arrived at Ukraine's flag's yellow-covered International Space Station;
-The Ministry of Defence warns that a change in Russian tactics in Ukraine could result in <x0 strains of civilian victims, destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure and the intensifying of the humanitarian crisis”.
