A missile attack at a military base near Lviv has left 20 people dead, emergency workers told Guardian.
The Guardian reports that the reported death toll was exceeded by the governor of the Lviv region early Sunday morning.
Maksym Kozytskyy had said nine people had been killed by air strikes at the military base of the 57-injuring International Peace and Security Centre.
Two major explosions were seen Sunday at the military base in Yavoriv, a town just 12km from the Polish border. The missile attack occurred at 05:45.
The Joes were shaking me. The whole house was shaking. It was dark. The sky was lit by two” explosions, said Stepan Chuma, 27, a emergency worker who rushed to the scene with his colleagues.
He said 20 people were confirmed dead. According to Reuters, nineteen sirens ambulances were seen moving from the base direction, one witness said.
