This project's protagonist cheater received about $10 million, the women he met on couples creation apps.
Recently, he has shown his version of the events, through an interview conducted online with “Inside Edition”. This is Simon's first public presentation since the documentary was launched.
I'm not the monster everyone's created. These women have not been deceived and threatened by me”, he said.
Netflixi's project, which debuted on the platform known on February 2nd, focuses on charges against Leviev for having been associated with women in various apps for creating couples under false claims, telling them he was in danger of giving money and then disappearing from their lives. The documentary has marked great successes as well as caused human debate.
Keeping up his innocence, in the interview in question he's heard saying: “I was just a single man looking for love and meeting women in Tinder”.
Although convicted of several crimes in the past, mainly of fraud in various parts of the world, such as Finland and Israel, Simon is currently at large, having suffered only five months of his 15-month court sentence in late 2019. Of course, he has been denied registration on many of the apps known for establishing connections.
Even part of the last interview was Leviev's current girlfriend, model Kate Conlin, who said she never borrowed money from him.
Jesus Christ, how come somebody's making history like this, says Conlin.
I want to clear my name. I want to tell the world that what is being said about me is not true. I'm not a fraud and I'm not a fake. People don't know me, so they don't even have the right to judge me. I am the most gentle man in the world”, Leviev added further.
He even surprised everyone with claims that his wealth and the luxurious life he does has been realized because he has made successful investments in cryptovaluta.
I'm a legitimate businessman. I bought bitumen in 2011, when they had no value. I guess I don't need to explain to you what they value now”.
According to Netflixi, Hayut has never been accused or convicted of frauds that Cecile Swanhøy, Pernilla Sjöholm and Ayleen Charlotte, three women presented in the documentary “The Tinder Swindler”. This is because his actions have occurred in various countries, which makes prosecutions more difficult successfully.
