The decision that was made during the rule of Shpend Ahmeti has been abolished today at the Assembly of the Municipal Assembly in Pristina.
Thus, the parasitics infected with Ovid 19 will no longer be repaid with money.
On 26 votes for, 18 votes have been against and a abstention, Pristina's Municipal Assembly has voted for a proposal to abolish the November 26th 2020 decision to subsidise citizens of the Pristina municipality infected with COVID-19.
The VV did not support this decision at today's meeting. Gezim Svechla said the VV does not support the suspension of subsidy, considering it unfair.
We think it's unfair for people who have been infected since January of this year to stop this subsidy. I'm looking for the mayor and all my colleagues here who support us not to interrupt this subsidy, to find alternative ways, that in this difficult time. We as LVV are against this abolition”, he said.
Meanwhile, President Progress Rama said that by the time this decision was made, it has been a different situation with pandemic.
Rama warned that a working group would be established to analyze the situation and help only those in need
The situation before two years with the pandemic has been more different than today. The idea to abolish this point is that it doesn't discriminate against anyone. I'm thinking you're going to have to be a working group to help me, and who doesn't need a”, President Rama said.
Meanwhile, Leutrim Retkoceri from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) came to the side of President Rama's idea to assess the situation and form other commissions.
“Subvention of 50 euros for us has not been correct at the time either because it has been very symbolic. By the time we talked about this subvention two years ago, there were other circumstances, other arguments. I think the same view with the chairman that we need to form other commissions, to assess the pandemic situation and then to the form-free”, Retkozer said.
Pristina's former leader, Shpend Ahmeti, had made the decision to allocate 50 euros for health expenses for each infected and 100 for pensioners infected with the virus.
