Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has argued ZRE's decision to expensive electricity. Prior to the government's meeting, Kurti said that in the past two months they have imported 40 per cent of the electricity and that in just one day they have paid 2.5m euros.
This form, according to him, is inexorable for the state budget.
According to him, new tariffs will not be affected by around 74 per cent of households or will be minimally affected.
We had to import 40 per cent of the electricity, in just one day we paid 2.5m euros. But such a form of subsidy is unaffordable for Kosovo's budget. ZRE has made decisions yesterday on new tariffs, and we have pledged up to 100m euros for subsidisation of our citizens. New tariffs are practiced only for those who spend over 800 kilowatt hours”, he said.
