Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti hosted German Parliament deputies Christian Petry from the Social Democratic Party of the SPD and Boris Mijatovic from the Green Party today.
MP Petry stressed that he is happy that Kosovo is listed with states heading towards the European Union. As a social Democrat, Petry said he had the desire to personally congratulate Prime Minister Kurti, on the new government under his leadership.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Petry for his continued support since 2019, when it was announced during a football game in Berlin, which took place between the Dardania Bamberg Association and the Bundestag football club. While MP Mijatovic congratulated him on his first mandate in the German Parliament.
MPs took an interest in the current situation, as well as bilateral relations with neighbouring states. The prime minister stressed that he hopes Chancellor Scholz returns the Berlin Process to the attention of the acts in the European Union.
MP Mijatovic stressed the importance of the fact that Bosnia's territorial integrity is highlighted in the German government's coalition agreement and that this applies to the entire region.
The meeting discussed the situation with COVID-19 and new safeguard clauses. Prime Minister Kurti said over 60% of the population over 16 years old are already vaccinated, while the vaccine is continuing even with the strengthening dose.
He stressed the Government's commitment to economic development, reform of justice and good governance.
German MPs stressed that German policymaking would have increased attention for Kosovo and the region, as well as pledged their support for common goals.
