The Oscar winner is currently in New York City serving a 23-year prison sentence for similar crimes.
Weinstein was convicted Monday of rape and two counts of sexual assault on a woman, known as Jane Doe 1, whose name has not been made public to protect her anonymity.
More than 80 women have accused him of sexual misconduct.
The claims reported in 2017 have contributed to the founding of the movement #Meto (Meto), which has encouraged people worldwide to share experiences of harassment and sexual assault.
Weinstein has produced several popular films, including “Shakespeare in Love”, who won the Oscar Award for Best Picture in 1999. / REL
