The Serbian Orthodox Church (KPS) has said that Kosovo institutions have banned Patriarch Porfirije from coming to Pec's Patriot on Christmas Eve.
This alleged ruling has reacted to the patriarch himself, praising the ban as “extremely discriminatory decision”.
He urged authorities in Kosovo that “stop violating the human rights and religious freedoms of Orthodox Serbs who have lived” in Kosovo “for at least 1500 years on the soil of their predecessors”.
“Patriarch Porfirije does not give up his intention to perform the divine service in Peja Patriot and expects this highly discriminatory decision to be annulled”, his cabinet said.
The patriarch added that “prays to God for peace and goodwill among all people” and that “he especially prays that peace should prevail between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo”, where they “have lived together centuries”.
