Sunday morning is calm in the north of the country, but roads continue to be blocked.
So Kosovo Police Director for the North Mitrovica region Besim Hoti told Radio Free Europe.
KFOR and EULEX are monitoring the situation. While few are currently seen at the barricade in Rudare, Zvecan.
In the afternoon of December 10th in Rudare, local Serbs gathered in contempt for the arrest of former Kosovo Police Minister Dejan Pantic from the Serb community. They put barricades in this place.
As a result, Kosovo police closed roads leading to the Jarinje and Brnjak border crossings linking Kosovo and Serbia, viewing the decision as a precautionary measure of security.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said that barricades located in northern Kosovo must be removed immediately and that Kosovo authorities are in constant contact with the NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR.
“Interior Minister Svecla is in contact with KFOR Commander Ristuccia. Masked criminals' barricades in the north must be removed immediately. Kosovo is a country of free citizens and workers, regardless of ethnicity and religion, gender and age. Criminals and Russian will fail. The Republic of Kosovo will win”, Kurti wrote.
