Indonesia's highest volcano has erupted today, promoting evacuation orders and increasing the country's threat of volcanic activity at the highest level.
Mount Semerou, a 3,6 - mile - high [3.6 km] volcano, erupted after the rains of the muson erode its lava dome, leading to its collapse.
Volcanan, located in Java, Indonesia's densely populated island, left several villages covered with ash and blocked sunlight as thick smoke bolts spread over 4,000m into the sky.
Authorities said no casualties have been reported so far and have warned residents to stay at a distance of 5km from the crater's mouth.
