Klitschko has said the blasts occurred in Shevchenki County, the area in downtown Kiev.
Emergency forces have been sent to the scene.
Air defence systems have been activated, Kiev Mayor Oleksei Kuleba has said.
BBC reporters have reported hearing huge explosions shortly after the sirens were lit, Periscope follows.
Russia has targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure since October, which it has hit with rockets and fears.
Klitschko later said the air defence has toppled 10 Iranian Shahed fears in the early hours of Wednesday.
It has been reported that parts of the drones have hit two administrative buildings in the center of town, but no casualties are reported.
Ukraine has accused Iran of providing Russia with fears “kamikaze”, which were used in the assassination attacks on October 17th, while Iran has denied it.
Iran has later acknowledged that it has sent Moscow small amounts of fears “over many months” prior to the war.
Ukraine's president, Voldymyr Zelensky, said it was a lie and that many of the Iranian fears are being used in war.
Kiev Governor Kuleba has said the air defence system is operating.
It is important to stay in shelters and safe places now. Russia is continuing terror against our country. But we are strengthening every day”, said Kuleba./Periscopi/
