ZER confirms illegal KEK is buying electricity from an unlicensed company in Kosovo

The scandal was confirmed by ZERE Board leader Ymer Feyzullahu himself, reporting before the 2006 Parliamentary Energy Commission 2022. He has said that at the moment Kosovo is starting to be an energy regulatory zone with Albania, ZRE and KOSST have called for all companies operating in the then-Serbia bloc to be licensed by ZRE.

However, the KEK scandal in continuing to trade with the company in question is not over.

Following the licensing of several companies from the ZRER, the board of this regulator through an official email has announced to the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK), System Operator, Transmission and Market (KOSST) and the Kosovar Power Supply Company (KESCO), with the official list of companies that has licensed them, where HSE has not been on this list.

“The moment the ZRE staff noticed and calculated that it is not licensed (HSE) has reacted immediately and sent the letter not only KOSST but also KEK and KESCO and the KOSST itself to break trade with this company immediately. Last time I said that both KOSST and KESCO and KEDS have stopped trading with this businessman, while KEK has continued on with the HSE trade. They claim to have the legal right to trade that the law is able according to reciprocity principle”, the chairman of the ZRE board has added.

KEK neither obeys Board to shop with licensed operators

And this company, which also has headquarters in Ljubljana, the place where the ambassador's scandal broke out, Martin Beasaj, unknown so far to be trading with Kosovo without being equipped with licenses, according to those documents that Infocus had obtained months earlier, is turning out to have benefited less than 8.4m euros for only seven months.

And in this information provided by Infocus newspaper, there is also the company “Unlicensed HSE” in Kosovo, with which KEK is trading electricity. In December and January 2021, this company has benefited from Kosovo's budget less than 2m and 421 euros.

No company GENH with headquarters in Belgrade and Ljubljana is not licensed in Kosovo

The head of the ZERE board has confirmed that neither the GEN company, reported by Infocus newspaper, received less than 4m euros from the state, was and continues not licensed in Kosovo.
