Osmani has indicated that the technical requirements raised by some of the EU member states regarding the ETIAS, the European system for authorisation and travel information, should not affect political decision making and the appointment of the day of the visa liberalisation decision for Kosovo citizens by presenting the arguments that a reverse situation would put Kosovo citizens more discriminated against.
Osmani has suggested that Kosovo “will be included in the ETIAS, like all other states, the moment that system becomes operational, but without impacting the appointment of a visa liberalisation decision day”.

The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has been hosting today's meeting, representatives of France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria in Kosovo, with whom she discussed developments after the 13 October meeting of the European Council technical visa processing group, concerning visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens. The president will continue meetings with other ambassadors of EU member states in the coming days.
In meetings with European Union ambassadors President Osmani, President Osmani has thanked for the support granted by EU member states for the visa liberalisation of Kosovo and has recalled that days earlier the European Commission has confirmed in the annual Kosovo Report that it supports the recommendation for abolishing visas for Kosovo and conspiring that Kosovo has fulfilled all criteria.
President Osmani stressed the need for political decision-making regarding visa liberalisation within the EU to be closed within the Czech EU chairmanship, given that there are no controversial positions by any of the EU member states on the subject.
In this direction, President Osmani voiced confidence that the technical requirements raised by some of the EU member states regarding the ETIAS, the European system for authorisation and travel information, do not affect political decision making and the appointment of the day for visa liberalisation decision for Kosovo citizens by presenting arguments that a reverse situation would position Kosovo citizens more discriminatory positions.
President Osmani confirmed that Kosovo will be included in the ETIAS, like all other states, the moment that system becomes operational, but without impacting the appointment of a visa liberalisation decision day.
