Kosovo President Mrs. Vjosa Osmani has congratulated writer Ismail Kadare for her birthday.
What stands out in the congratulations you can read a little lower is the photograph of the President accompanying this post.
If it is current, the president seems to have lost enough weight.
Writing where the President wishes Kadare:
It is not uncommon for people of culture, art, and letters to give way to the nation at the most difficult moments of its history, being the greatest artulators of the idea of freedom.
Such is our writer, Ismail Kadare, master of the verse and word, a defender of the western culture of Albanians.
In his masterpieces, measurable only to the classics of world literature, he managed to disseminate the free spirit of the nation, history, tradition, culture and belonging (identity), when dictatorship was trying to alter it.
The world today recognizes the tradition, culture, and soul of Albanians through its works, without the need for history teachers.
Our nation is eternally grateful to this column of letters. Kosovo, in particular, bows down for the rare weight of its word.
It's a big birthday, master.
Good health.
