Hoxhaj wants more like the government's reaction to Ukraine: Putin goals similar to Hitler, Milosevic

The deputy head of the Kosovo Assembly and former Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj urges the Kosovo government to clearly position itself in the situation in Ukraine.

Through a Facebook status, Hoxhaj remembers the time when in 2014, the Government of Kosovo imposed sanctions on Russia when it was annexed by crime.

I'm not wielding swords against Russia! But it is important for Kosovo to be violently occupied by Serbia until 1999, threatened daily by that after 2008, blocked by 15 years internationally by Russia to solidify with Ukraine's tragedy! There's no need for geopolitical knowledge because anyone can imagine the drama there! But when you are in a position of decision making, what disturbs you before making a public statement is whether you should follow only your country's interests or even moral principles for other causes in the world! ”, writes Hoxhaj.

The danger that war can erupt every day in between Europe is known to all, only Kosovo does not recognise and sees this! Kosovo's silence and paralysis in major international crises is dangerous even to make a statement and condemn the terrible Russian threat in Ukraine! Does it mean that we want to maintain a neutral attitude toward the crisis in Ukraine?

No one from Kosovo expects weapons, but at least a statement! Or is this simple silence of Kosovo about a lack of clear stand against Russian aggression, with our neutrality in foreign policy? Or is Kosovo waiting for someone to ask for a statement?

I am very proud that by my determination the Government of Kosovo imposed sanctions against Russia, when Russia annexed Crime in 2014. No one asked me here or across the sea! The goal, however, was clear, that we as a small country offer public support and line up against the democratic world!

What Putin aims at today is the same as Hitler's intention in 1939 in Europe and Milosevic in 1989 in the Balkans! Even small democracies never dare to surrender to authoritarian regimes and invading goals!
