“Apel can accept the assurance of the Kosovo Police for the KLA's superiors being held at The Hague”

Accredited by the Special Court, Taulant Hodaj, invited to the Frontal show, Apel has said he is considering the guarantee Kosovo Police have provided for the KLAC leaders being held at The Hague.

He has said that the Appeals' own proposal for the Constitutional Court to review this guarantee means that they are seeing this proposal as interesting and can be convinced of it.

“In defence efforts to convince the tribunal have been different proposals, the guarantee of a third state, competition from the state of Kosovo. These have given you both in the case of guaranteeing third states and in case of Kosovo Police guarantees. This second case, the judge has decided not to approve of it and not to give it away. Appely himself has told the Founding Court to review this guarantee. Logic should take you that way. In my opinion, so far there was no better basis than this. Because by itself the fact that Appeals requires additional clarifications means that they see that proposal as interesting and now see whether they obey or not, he stated.

Hodaj has said Kosovo institutions should be prepared and protect the country's interest.

While he has said defence lawyers are applying to review the detention of KLAA superiors.

“Every two months have the right to review the detention and are making this request to defence lawyers, even the detention is not crucial, is the first instance, then appealed to the second instance”, he added.
