Ninekg of cocaine seized in Vermica crossing, two Albanian citizens arrested

Kosovo police in co-operation with Dogan have seized about 9kg of narcotics, allegedly cocaine.

According to the announcement, drugs have been caught at the border crossing in Vermica, while two people are being arrested traveling in a Pewgeot car with Albanian license plates.

“As a result of the work and co-operation of authorities involved in the MlK (Integrated Border Management) last night (Saturday) during police and customs raids has been prevented smuggling of about nine (9)kg, narcotics suspected of being a cocaine type, and two persons have been arrested. Around 21:45 at the point of the Vmica border crossing has reached a vehicle with license plates of the Republic of Albania, in which two men of Albanian citizenship were located, where, after the suspicions raised by the car, the vehicle has been selected for checks. The car has been sent to the second line of control along with Kosovo Customs, also in co-operation with the Albanian border authorities on the basis of vehicle-based doubts sent for scanning, scan images have provided indicators for hidden space factories under the back seat of”, the report said.

After opening the back seat, the bunker was found, where 9 packs of narcotics were hidden, amounting to 8,874kg.

The “related to the case has been announced to relevant police units, as well as the prosecutor of the case, with whose decision the suspected persons have been sent to maintaining”, the report said.
