Kosovo, Croatia soon with deal in field of military purchases

Defence Minister Armend Mehaj met with Croatian Defence Minister Mario Banozic during his visit to Croatia. He thanked Minister Mehaj for accepting the invitation for participating in the renowned ASDA 2021 fair in the town of Split, Croatia. The minister of affairs [...] attended the meeting.

According to the ministerial statement, it was also discussed at this meeting that the potential for future technical-military co-operation between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Croatia. Co-ordinators also reiterated the importance of strategic dialogue between the two countries in the context of common interest in the stability of Southeast Europe.
Among other things, Prime Minister Mehej and Croatian Minister Banozic agreed on the realisation of the agreement in the field of military purchases “Stateed”, for the possibility of participation in joint peacekeeping operations, as well as the new Memorandum of Understanding between the two defence ministries, expected to be signed in Pristina soon.
During this meeting, Minister Mehaj praised the Croatian contingent's great role and contribution under KFOR.
Likewise, Minister Mehaj and Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Svecla announced to Minister Banozic on the current political and security situation in Kosovo, especially for the recent events in northern Kosovo.
As for multilateral co-operation and given that the Republic of Croatia heads the Regional Initiative, the US Adriatic Charter (A5), as well as Central European Defence Co-operation this year, Minister Mehej received the invitation from Minister Banozic for participation in future meetings at the level of defence ministers of the two initiatives.
