The car in which Tupac was shot to death has been auctioned, but anyone seeking to take over his unique and grim piece of rap history will have to have a lot of money. The newly restored BMW 750 is expected to receive a price of at least $1.7m when it goes on sale for bidders in Las Vegas, the same town in which Tupac died.
It's currently on display at the Celebrity Cars Las Vegas exhibit after being fully restored to its original quality. As part of the restoration process, a number of bullet holes were removed from the car's passenger door, leaving no trace of tragic events that famous the vehicle.
On September 7, 1996, Tupac had been in the passenger seat of the car, which was run by record executioner Suge Knight after taking part in a Mike Tyson boxing match, when another car approached BMW in a red light and fired multiple shots in the car. Tupac died of injuries received at the hospital a few days later, but his killers were never identified. At the time of the shooting, the vehicle was leased on the Tupac label, Death Row Records, and the sale reportedly includes documentation proving this ownership.
