According to Afghan journalist Bilal Sarwary, who has spoken to two Afghans directly involved in the negotiations, where it says part of the deal was that President Ghan himself would join the ceremony of passing power peacefully, as the Taliban requested, but that he choose, along with his aid, to leave the country.
“The palace employees were reportedly told to leave and the palace was empty”, while the Taliban later told Reuters news agency they had taken it under control.
Meanwhile, the photos showing the Taliban have just been published by the president of Afghanistan's seat.
