He was arrested this Tuesday in the Caldas da Rainha municipality, 100km from Lisbon, after being accused of kidnapping his children.
The Portuguese National Police suggest that brothers and sisters, aged 11 and 10, are in good health.
The Albanian travelled from Germany to Tenerife, with his two children in December 2020.
The mother of the children filed a civil complaint last January, but in Germany no indictment was ever filed for the kidnapping of minor children. Their mother was forced to travel to Spain, where a criminal prosecution was opened.
