The planned U.S. forces retreat was accompanied by several victims at Kabul Airport on Monday, while thousands of people tried to flee Afghanistan a day after taking control of the country by the Taliban.
Senior American military officials say the chaos at the airport left seven people dead Monday, including some who fell from an outgoing American military jet. Officials spoke on condition of anonymity, because they were not authorised to discuss the ongoing operations publicly.
Afghans flocked to the airport floor of Kabul as thousands tried to escape after the Taliban took power.
Film footage shows some people who were caught on the side of an American military plane before rising, as a sign of despair, while the 20-year war is ending in a chaotic way.
