Lumir Abdixhiku's party has called the move degrading to the state, which, according to them, reinforces parallel structures in the country's north.
This party is asking Prime Minister Kurti to prevent the establishment of a parallel university in the north.
“Prime Minister Kurti must replace empty statements in Brussels, with concrete actions on his state territory. It must immediately, without delay, dismiss the minister from the minority ranks and at any cost prevent the establishment of the parallel university in the north”, the LDK's response is said to be further.
LDK's full reaction:
With the approval of the visit by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the director of the so-called Office for Kosovo of Alexander Vuciqi Government, along with Albin Kurti Government Minister, placed Pristina's <x0-University building in North Mitrovica” in Northern Mitrovica. With this move they delegitate and degrade the state of Kosovo, at the same time mistaking the identity of the University of Pristina.
In addition to this degrading move, which further reinforces parallel structures in the country's north, even more scandalous is the government officials' statement, respectively, of Deputy Education Minister Popovci, who takes the stance that “the North Mitrovica University even with Kosovo laws is in direct administration of the Northern Mitrovica municipality”, and that the university is not a parallel” structure. The deputy minister seems to forget that no government so far has legitimised a university, which not only illegally bears the name of Pristina's public university, but also acts and functions fully on the basis of the laws and planning of the Republic of Serbia. It is the Kurti government, which is resurrecting and restoring parallel structures and which is gradually, but with positive steps, returning the processes back and reinstalling Serbia in Kosovo.
It is true that the Law for Local Self-Government, Article 21, envisions that the North Mitrovica “Corporation has competence for higher schooling ...”, but that Article 19.2 further underlines that <x2 central authorities in the Republic of Kosovo monitor the exercise of expanded competencies in accordance with central legislation, envisioning equal access to public services; minimal quantitative and qualitative standards in offering public services; minimal qualifications of their personnel and training; general principles for legal and public enterprises. ”
The government Kurti, with all the executive power and absolute parliamentary majority it has, is allowing its ministers, and the Republic of Kosovo, indiscriminately, to participate in these activities delegating our state. Practicers have cowered and turned into spectators. So the footwork is far away here.
Prime Minister Kurti must replace empty statements in Brussels, with concrete actions on his state territory. It must immediately, without delay, dismiss the minister from the minority ranks and at any cost prevent the establishment of parallel university in the north.
