Osmani has said Serbia has yet to regret its past, until it has indicated it will not give up seeking justice for all war victims.
The presentation is public, anyone can hear it and see what I said then. I stressed that we must move forward, open a new chapter, but first we must close what is behind us to move on. Without it, it would be clear that there would be no justice for the victims of the Milosevic regime. I'm very careful not to generalize who committed the crime and I communicate clearly. However, it does not seem that Serbia regrets that part of the past created by Slobodan Milosevic. They continue to celebrate his way of thinking and acting. That means people with equal minds are in power, they just use different strategies. In their internal leadership, they continue to depend on it. But outside, during meetings and in front of the media, they talk about peace. History tells us that there is no lasting peace without justice. For that reason, I sought justice for all civilian victims of the Milosevic regime. For me, it's not a political problem, it's a humanitarian. Even if it is not our duty as politicians, it is our duty as a human being, it is our moral duty to bring justice to light, justice to the victims.
Despite the reaction, I will continue to do my job. My job is to represent people in the Republic of Kosovo. My job is to seek justice and tell the truth. I don't care about the reactions of individuals because I do what I have to do, I represent people in my country. Not only that, I strongly believe that when I speak the truth and seek justice, I also represent the best interests of the entire region, not only of Kosovo”, Osmani has been expressed.
Osmani has also criticised Serbia for arming itself and co-operating with Russia before the EU and the US.
She has said that if Serbia tries to reenter Kosovo, it will face American soldiers and other NATO members.
It is clear that the Serbian Army views Russia as its main ally in terms of military co-operation, but also the policy of that economy. They show it open. While countries in the region, such as us or Croatia, held the “Defender Europe 21л along with NATO and the United States, Serbia organised military exercises with Russia at the same time. It was the only country in the region that was not present in US-led Protection Europe. Recently, we can see how they organise military exercises with Russia and Belarus, indicating their orientation. I'm not sure what they have in mind when it comes to the rhetoric they use, but I know one thing very well: if they cross the border with Kosovo they will meet with soldiers from the United States and other NATO members. We are not alone and Serbia knows it! They tried to do it once in 1999. I don't think they'd like to try again!”, Osmani expressed himself.
