Local Croatian portal “SB online” has published the details of the witness questioning by District Attorney's deputy in Slavonski Brod.
We questioned three of the five passengers who came to the District Court. Only three of them were questioned, because they were urgently waiting for transport to Kosovo, and we didn't translate for those two”, District Attorney Franjo Copunic said.
Two witnesses said they were asleep and didn't know who was driving the bus, but a witness said the suspect was the one driving”, Deputy District Attorney Franjo Copunic confirmed.
In the question of whether the travelers had seen him driving the suspect, Copenhagen said the witness had seen him and had woken up when the accident occurred and claims he [the suspect] was driving. It was also confirmed that during the interrogation the passenger recognized the suspected driver.
It was also confirmed that two passengers were watching the suspected driver, but as already mentioned, they were asleep and did not know who was driving the bus at the time of the accident.
