The VV MP in the Assembly fails to hold sessions where she and five others are being charged with corruption

Islam Thaqi, Jetmir Vrenesei, Egzon Morina-Thaqi, Arian Taraku, Is Bislimaj and Albania Krasniqi are charged with criminally misusing the official position, as they, according to the prosecution, had overstepped their competencies in the event of the breakdown of the annex of “Abi Chardesia” in Prizren, reports <x2Bendering for Justice<3>.

The next session in this case, which was scheduled to be held Thursday at the Constitutional Court in Prizren, has failed to be held because, in advance, the defender of the accused Vrenese, lawyer Ardian Morina, had announced to the court that Vrenese is engaged in the plenary session of the Kosovo Parliament.

In addition to Vrenez, Thaqi and Bislimaj were not present at the session. Likewise, construction expert Liman Mustafa also lacked.

In the absence of indictees, court chief Kicaj decided to postpone the session on June 7th 2021.

Otherwise, the Constitutional Prosecutor in Prizren, on December 20, 2019, has filed an indictment against Islam Thaqi, Jetmire Venice, Egzon Morina-Thaqi, Arian Taraku and Is Bislimaj, who is tasking him with the criminal work “the misuse of official position or authority”.

The indictment reportedly states that on 19 July and 21 July 2019 in Prizren, in the “Abi Carshia”, accused Islam Thaqi, in the quality of the Inspector's director, Jetmir Verezi and Ezegona Morina Thaqi, construction inspectors Arian Taraku and Isslimaj, officials at the Directorate of Inspectorate, Albanian Krasniqi, legal representative in the Prizren municipality, using office or official authority, exceeded their competency powers with the intent of causing damage to <x2%A> KPS in Prizren.

According to the indictment, the accused commit to the collapse of the “Abi Charshia” annexing the annex, knowing that the injured has submitted the application for legalisation.

The prosecution claims that the same have acted contrary to the Law on Treating Without Permission Construction, With Administrative Guide No.06/19, with the Law on General Administration, as well as decisions by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, No. A-213/18 and A-179/19, with which the Communist Construction Inspectorate Directorate decisions in Prizren were cancelled.

According to the prosecution, these decisions force municipal bodies in Prizren to act on the Law to treat illegal construction, as well as administrative guidelines in force, so according to the indictment, the accused by ignoring these decisions act contrary to the laws in force.

The damage allegedly caused to “Abi Charshia”, with the collapse of the complaint in question, is worth 69,729.66 euros.

With these actions, all accused are charged with committing criminal work “misusing official position or authority”, by Article 414 paragraph 2-1 concerning KPRK Article 31.
