Prosecutors in New York can soon sue the Trump Organisation for the huge benefits it gave to top executives, reports Guardian, translates Periscope.
The US's 45th president is not expected to be indicted personally, but the legal drama could bank his company by damaging its ties to banks and other business partners, potentially making it impossible for him to return to politics.
Ron Fischetti, a lawyer at the Trump Organisation, held a virtual meeting with prosecutors Thursday for about 90 minutes in an effort to discourage him from taking that step.
“The accusations are absolutely terrible and unprecedented, if they are really drafted,” he said.
President Trump, defeated by Joe Biden in the November elections, has long demanded that the case be closed against him, calling him the <x0-> witch's trial” while still politically active.
He returned to the election campaigns Saturday, and is expected to be included in the mid-mandate elections of 2022 until he said he would run for president again in 2024. /Periscope
