The queen was not asked by Duke and Sussex Duchess for the name of their daughter Lilybet, said a source within the palace for the BBC.
A source close to Harry and Meghan said the prince had spoken to the queen before his birth and he would have mentioned the name.
But a palace source said it was not.
Now a source close to Harry said if the Queen didn't support him, they wouldn't have used the name.
The source said: “Duka spoke to his family before the announcement. Actually, his grandmother was the first member of the family he called. During that conversation, he shared their hope of appointing their daughter Lilybeth for her honor. Had she not supported her, they would not have used the name”.
Lily was the Queen's nickname in the middle of the family since her childhood.
