This letter, dated June 16th, 2021, requires that same-sex marriage be included in the Kosovo Civil Code, the platform announces.
Also, it is said that Kosovo has worked on developing the first civil code, and this presents a good opportunity to ensure legal protection to the LGBTIQ community.” writes Dylberism, Pryskopi explains.
The European Parliament says concerned about the final draft of the Civil Code in Kosovo that has still defined marriage as “reunification between two marriage mates of different genders”.
Also, the letter teaches that some members of the European Parliament have addressed questions to Minister Haxhiu.

On Wednesday, June 16th, members of the interparliamentary group of The European Parliament, who work for the rights of the LGBTI community, has sent a letter to the minister. Justice Kosovo, Albulen Haxhiu, reports QICA.

In this letter the Q platform secured. IKA is required to include same - sex marriages in Civil code to Kosovo. It also says Kosovo has worked on developing the first civil code, and this presents a good opportunity to ensure legal protection to the LGBTI community.

The European Parliament's stance on Kosovo, adopted on March 25th 2021, specifically emphasises that the Kosovo government must work on the inclusion of marriage between the same sex, which is not being seen in the final draft for the Civil Code, with marriage cases still remaining in the definition that it is legally defined as the union between marriage of different genders.

Other works, on paper are said to be the time to develop a legal framework which is not in line only with the Constitution of Kosovo, but is once progressive and inclusive. In this case, several members of this group addressed several questions to Minister Hadziu.
