Civil society rejects the Daka dismissal: Politically Motivated Decision

Civil society organisations, we challenge the country's president's decision, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, to dismiss CEC chairman Valdete Daka. “Based on the decision to download, we appreciate that arguments laid down by the president are unfounded and present the misinterpretation of the respective situations. Among other things, the CEC chairman is exclusively attributed to all the alleged responsibilities and failures of the CEC, despite the fact that the CEC's chair is just one of the eleven eligible members. We even remember that the CEC's work has been assessed positively by local and international election monitoring reports”, it says in their response.
Also, making this decision on the eve of announcing the date of local elections represents a direct impact on independence, integrity and the prosperity of the CEC's work on organising and managing those elections, it is said further in response.
