Last month, during the 21st Fast Answer Army, soldiers from Brigade 173 The air was conducting a training exercise to simulate capture and securing an disabled airfield in Bulgaria when he accidentally left the training zone.
Soldiers simulated the entrance and cleaning of numerous bunkers and facilities across the Chesnegirovo field, according to a press release released Monday.
On May 11th, soldiers entered and cleaned a building near the airfield that they believed was part of the training area, but which belonged to several Bulgarian civilians operating a private business,” said the press release.
According to Bulgarian reporter Diyana Gaytzhieva, who wrote on Twitter, from images of security cameras believed to show the incident, the owner of the building has set up a trial process.
The private business, which was occupied by workers at the time, is a factory that produces olive oil equipment.
While the American Army assured that they were not shot during the incident, it was reported that at least one worker had a rifle led by him.
“We sincerely apologize to business and its employees”, the Army said.
