Serbia rewards former head of Serbian gendarmerie, war crimes suspect in Kosovo

Bratislav Dickic, former head of Serbia's gendarmerie and retired general, has been employed at a state company in Serbia, just days after returning from Montenegro, since he was suspected of involvement in the coup there. As the Serbian medium reports “Insider”, this has been made public by reports of management meetings with representatives of local municipalities and communities, the Express broadcast.

As if that were not enough, Dickic has also been talking about involvement in war crimes in Kosovo during the 1990s.

“Some media have written that an investigation has been conducted against Dickic over allegations that he has been involved in war crimes in Kosovo, but that documents from the prosecution and the court have not confirmed such a thing”, writes the Serbian medium Insider.

In addition, Dickic's name has been written many times in the Serbian media for various scandals that connect to his actions as chief of Serbian gendarmerie.

In 2011, Ivica Dacic had promoted Dickic to the state police. Two years later, however, Police Director Milorad Veljovic had sought Dickic's dismissal, following a double murder that had occurred in Kraljeva.

Shortly after the Police Director's statement, Ivica Dacic in the quality of Interior Minister he had accepted the request for Dickic's dismissal.

As Insider writes, Dickic's name is linked even to many scandals and wiretapping within the Serbian police framework.
