Minister Ceku reasons for the employment of VVAN MP's sister at National Theatre

Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Hajrullah Ceku has argued after criticism about the employment of Aliu and others as members of the Kosovo National Theatre Steering Council. Finally, February Aliu, who was employed at this facility, who was an MP candidate in 2017, and is the MP's sister [...]
Finally, Aliu, who was employed at this institution, who was an MP candidate in 2017 and is the sister of the deputy of this movement, Luan Aliu, according to Ceku, he has consulted the Kosovo theatre community, and the names of the new National Theatre Steering Council are the result of that process.
I consulted with the Kosovo theatre community, and the names of the new National Theatre Steering Council are the result of that process”, the minister wrote among other things on Facebook.
Many other politicians have reacted in this regard.
Kosovo Assembly MP from the PDK ranks Eliza Hoxha has reacted following the Kosovo National Theatre's new Steering Council's appointment of a member for February Ali.
For shouting against family and party boards, the Kurti government 2” wrote Hoxha.
This is the full response:
Regarding the appointment of February Ali and others as members of the Kosovo National Theatre Steering Council:
1. I have consulted the Kosovo theatre community, and the names of the new National Theatre Steering Council are the result of that process.
2. On behalf of the campaign department I proposed a professional filter between the minister and the Steering Council. And we will develop that mechanism very quickly. This independent and professional mechanism will advise the minister, but ultimately the decision is made by the minister in line with legal competence.
3. Partying in appointments occurs when the main criterion for taking office is party membership. While this party influence has manifested itself in other forms, for example in the Theatre through the favour of directors, the intervention in repertor, the ban on performances. These won't happen again, or when they happen we'll make sure they get the right answer.
4. The law gives me the right to appointment on the basis of faith. It means no competition or procedure is required for the appointment of members of executive councils because this is not employment, it is appointment. So you can judge me on the basis of the performance of the people I have appointed. The board needs to be given time and then jointly appreciate their work. While the moment a violation occurs, the same will be addressed immediately.
5. I appointed a professional, not an unconventional militia. I've appointed a theatre director, not one who doesn't even know where he competed, I've named the theatre February, not the February of Vetevendosje.
6. Members of the Steering Council are not paid for wages, they are compensated for their meetings, but the maximum monthly amount for a member is 200 gross euros. The law also forbids you the right to engage in creative work contracted by the Theatre.
7. So, February director has no right to perform as long as it is on the Council, while for its work it can receive 200 euros a month at most. And its work along with the other six Council members is the development of the National Theatre, a mission as challenging as noble.
8. All this noise is being made to create an impression of being comfortable with parties with material profit purposes. This is also being done using the word “bord”, in order to create sensationalization. The National Theatre has no board, there is no board of directors. And that's not employment, it's appointment.
9. Short is professional, hard worker, integrity keeper, incorrigible. He gave a lot to the theater, didn't take anything. There is still to be given theatre life in Kosovo. I have full confidence in her professionalism and integrity, and I have appointed her to that task. The same applies to other council members: Gresa Pallaska, Visare Aliu, Rebecca Doda, Armend Smajli, Ben Apolloni, Brikena Mulliqi.
10. We have started reforming national cultural institutions and this process will not be halted. Theatre, Ballet, Philharmonic, Gallery and others will have professional management advice, financial autonomy and institutional stability, sufficient human capacities, leaders of artistic and human integrity, increased programming qualities, dignified international presentations and increased audiences.
