Republic of Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has hosted a delegation of the Kosovo Mothers Association, led by President Magbule Elezi.
At this meeting, the Mothers' Association has informed President Osmani of the problems this area faces, citing in this context the lack of gynecologists and maternity wards in small municipalities, with which the health of women, girls and children is being threatened.
They have called for speeding up the adoption of the new Health Law and have cited the challenges of coping with the Codwood-19 pandemic.
President Osmani, meanwhile, has stressed that together with other institutions, they will try to address problems in this sector, especially in terms of the challenges of maternity events in small localities. Ms. Osmani has said that mothers and children will have the right treatment because of the work of the midwifes, so she has supported the requirements for improving their overall position. Furthermore, President Osmani has also provided support for the continued professional development of midwives, as well as increasing their number in health institutions.
