On the occasion of Earth Day note, Green Art Center Pristina (GAC) with its associates organised environmental activities throughout the country.
The central holiday for marking this important environmental day was organised in co-operation with Pristina Green School, with Mrs. Hope Shala, education director near the Pristina municipality, Mr. Ilir Morina, chief executive of the Agency for Environmental Protection, Mrs. Fahrije Latifi Retkozeri, director of Green School and Mr. Lorik Mucaj, founder and director of GAC.
Since even this year's global motto for Earth Day is “Earth regeneration” (#Restore OurEath), which aims to call for greater attention to the earth, contribution to its regenitation (through soil planting and treatment), and in particular for keeping green spaces clean, and Green Art Center Pristina (GAC) as all lovers of the earth through various activities intended to promote these values and highlighted the biggest environmental problems in Kosovo.
Mrs. Fahrije Latifi Retkocer, director of the green school, pointed out that on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of green school, as well as each other year, the school day is also marked on earth. She thanked GAC and all institutions, particularly students, educators and the school green club, for their commitment.
Mrs. Hope Shala, director of the DKA in Pristina, stressed that they are committed to enriching extracurural content within the education system, and one time highlighted the importance of student clubs and groups Brenda schools, and in particular green clubs that are founded in co-operation with GAC.
Mr. Lorik Mucaj, Director of GAC, among other things, stressed the importance of earth care and stimulating greenery and landmaking as a necessary measure for its regeneration. Besides Mr. Mucaj added that “this year, GAC, along with the activities of green clubs and the engagement of development projects in tourist areas, aims to continue looking for solutions to re-evaluate Meash's deposit and co-operate with institutional activists in order to live up to the creation of new deposit and start revising that of Meash, which he named as the “esoph2> which is threatening lives.
Within the framework of this central event for Earth Day, Green Art Center for Pristina and its volunteers and green club students promoted importance to land care, the importance of using renewable energy, performed cleaning and planting actions, and opened the exhibition conducted in co-operation with the world network of organisations marking Earth Day.
