Pushpika De Silva won the title of Sri Lanka's most beautiful lady, and the ceremony was broadcast on national television.
A few moments later, however, the winner of this title from 2019, Caroline Yuri, removed De Silva, claiming that the title could not be hers because she was divorced.
The rules of choice are for racers to be married and should not be divorced.
There's a rule that doesn't allow women who are married and divorced to already compete, so I'm taking steps to give them the sub-computer wreath,” told Yuri to the audience from the scene. She then placed the crown on the head of the best man, and De Silva left the scene with tears.
She later wrote on Facebook that she had to go to the hospital because of a head injury that occurred while Yuri was removing her crown.
Organisers later apologized to De Silva and returned the crown after it was determined that she was not divorced but that she and her husband actually lived apart.
The true Queen is not a woman who steals the crown of another woman, but a woman who secretly regulates the crown of another woman”, De Silva said.
Mrs World Organiser has already launched an investigation into the case.
