49-year-old Siripran Niamrin was walking onto the empty beach after a storm, when she noticed a massive move that had been taken to the coast of the province of Nachhon Si Thammas on February 23rd.
When she saw it closer, she realized that the substance smelled like fish, so she pulled the discovery, believing that some money could be worth it.
As she asked her neighbors for help in finding her novel form, Siripon was shocked to learn that the measure was known as “vomited” whale, or ambergris, and with its weight it was worth a little over $200,000.
To verify the authenticity of Ambergris, Sirius and its figs lit a fire, causing some of it to soften, and then to be renewed after the cooling.
Siriporn is expecting experts at her home to confirm the value of ambergris, which is a rare ingredient used in the perfume industry.
The woman said: “if I found a real ambergris, after finding a buyer it would help our community. I feel lucky to have found such a big piece. I hope he'll bring me the money”
With the currents resulting from the South China Sea, the beaches of Nachhon Si Thamarat have been the last of several famous pieces of ambergris.
