It has made these statements a press conference with Algeria Minister of Foreign Affairs Sabri Boukadoum, González Laya, when asked whether there was any change in Spain's position regarding Kosovo recognition, foreign media report.
“Futball is football and football rules are determined by FIFA, and therefore for Spain, a country that loves football and loves a good football, must be welcomed”, the minister said.
Spain is among the states that do not diplomaticly recognise Kosovo. The Federation of Spain in football, in announcing Spain's matches, Kosovo has referred to it as territory, not recognised as a state.
The minister has sought not to confuse them with rules imposed by U. EFA with those of international law.
“I wish Kosovo the best, although I would bet on Spain,” she stressed.
