Montenegro's Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapiq has declared to Serbian media that if he had been at the helm of the Montenegrin government in 2008, his state would never have recognised Kosovo's independence.
He has said the Kosovo issue, for a part of this state's residents, is an emotional issue and that they think it is an inevitable part of Serbia.
This part of our people will think that regardless of what the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina will finally be. If I had been Montenegro's prime minister, by the time Montenegro had not yet recognised Kosovo, I would never have agreed that it would happen. But it's all over before I come to the government even before this government”, Krivokapic told the Serbian newspaper “Blic”.
He also says that if they made the decision to withdraw recognition of Kosovo's independence, the government would fall at the first parliamentary session.
“DPS would do everything to form the government and make the same decision for Kosovo again. Everything else is a wish-based imagination”, Krivokafic said.
Meanwhile, in Montenegro's government, which was formed in December last year, there is also significant position for Albanian Dritan Abazovic. He is the only deputy prime minister, since with his civic movement, The URA supported the formation of the government with Krivokapicin at the helm.
