On 1 February, Kosovo linked diplomatic relations with Israel and decided to open its embassy in Jerusalem by becoming the first predominantly Muslim European state to make that decision by following the US and Guatemala that have also decided to open their embassies in Jerusalem.
Turkish President Erdogan has warned Kosovo that such a move could damage relations with his state in the future.
“I believe it would be a benefit to avert such a move that would cause great damage to Kosovo”, Erdogan had said.
