In wartime in Kosovo, he served as commander of the Pristina Corps. Vladimir Lazarevic officially exercised this post from January 1999 to June of that year.
And for this time, Lazarevic was found guilty by The Hague Tribunal for deportation and forced transfer of Kosovo's Albanian population. Thus, the former Serbian general was originally sentenced to 15 years in prison, and later to sit down from Appeal to 14 years.
He was later given early release after serving two thirds of his sentence to 14 years in prison.
Despite two decades of war, however, Lazarevic has returned to talk about that period.
In an interview for Kosovo-Online, the former Serbian general has also talked about recent developments in Kosovo, with particular emphasis on the Special Court in The Hague. He says that this organ of justice does not expect justice to be established.
For justice to be put in place, an independent international institution is needed. There's a million evidence. What takes more than the fact that Serbia released more than 2,000 terrorists from prison under pressure, even those whose trials were over. Who will satisfy that justice? And thousands of people are victims of them, both Albanians and Serbs. Even today, how many missing persons are still being sought? I would like justice to be given to these victims as much as possible, but I'm just skeptical at this point.”, he said.
Lazarevic has also been asked about statements by political leaders in Kosovo that require responsibility from his state for crimes committed in Kosovo.
According to him, responsibility these 20 years has been sought only by Serbia, while now attention has been turned to Albanians.
But this says that no Albanian will be punished by internationals because they are the very ones who created it. KLA.
For 20 years and more, under the care of their mentors, they have spread the story that they are without sin, that Serbia is responsible for everything, and now suddenly the court that is theirs has grave accusations against their former president, prime minister and various officials. Those who lag behind are, on the one hand, trying to lower that pressure and help those criminals, and on the other hand, international pressure is such that they will not allow the KLA and its members to be punished for some serious crimes. Because they themselves created KLA”, he said.
The former Pristina Corps Commander has indicated that during wartime there has been an international fraud, including the OSCE mission's engagement with William Walker.
This even refers to an article by French medium Le Monde, where last year it allied that the greatest world lie of the 20th century was the alleged massacre of civilians in Racak.
