The Republic of Kosovo benefits from long-term partnership with Denmark's Kingdom.
The justice ministry reports they have agreed to an agreement with Denmark's Kingdom institutions, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Development Co-operation, respectively, on the release of a correctional institution with the capacity of three hundred convicts.
The justice ministry pledges the release of a correctional institution with the capacity for three hundred convicts who would be brought by the Kingdom of Denmark. The convicts who will be transferred to this institution will not be high risk. In compensation for this, the Republic of Kosovo benefits 210m euros, which will also be dedicated to capital investments, in particular for renewable energy.
The compensation will greatly benefit both the justice institutions and the Kosovo Correcting Service, which will affect the establishment of the overall quality and infrastructure of this service. We stress that Danish institutions have positively assessed the treatment of convicts in Kosovo and our capacities in this regard. This is the opportunity towards close co-operation between our two states, deepening strategic partnership between us.
The signing of the letter's purpose, the expression of the will, between the two sides, will be achieved on Monday, or December 20th of this year after the visit of Danish ministers to the Republic of Kosovo. The deal is designed to find full implementation in the period of ten years.
