European Union spokesman Peter Stano has declared that Pristina and Belgrade should implement all agreements signed earlier on normalising relations between the two states.
“We expect Serbia and Kosovo to fully implement all past agreements, including the agreement on official visits. Official visits are an important part of normalising relations, as they provide an opportunity for more interaction and communication between the” parties, Stano has declared.
“According to the agreement, all visits should be carried out in a way that will advance the normalisation process or contribute to overall work in the context of the dialogue process facilitated by the European Union”, he has said.
Stano claims that the visit of Kosovo ministers was announced in line with the agreement and had to be allowed.
The Kosovo ministers' visit was positively announced in accordance with the agreement and therefore had to be allowed to develop. We call on Serbia to reconsider its decision and allow formal visits to be made that meet the conditions above”, Stano has told Klan Kosova.
It was Infrastructure Minister Lieburn Aliu, who announced that this visit was not allowed by the Serbian state on Saturday.
According to him, the request to visit Medvedja, Bujanoc and Presevo was refused without reason.
Our “Visita, by the authorities in Belgrade, was rejected, with no excuse shortly before the launch of our delegation. In line with the procedures and agreement in Brussels, we have made regular application with the November 24th, also presenting the visit agenda. The refusal was made today at 7:13 p.m. In the negative response received through our liaison office in Belgrade, there is no reason to refuse”.
“The agenda of the planned event included the visit, on November 27th and 28th, to all three Albanian municipalities and meetings with mayors, representatives in parliament, at the local level, and with leaders of political subjects.
Refusing the request is open obstruction to help discriminated Albanian citizens in Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc”, Aliu wrote.
With him in the Valley were Minister of Education Arberie Nagavci, Culture Minister Hajrullah Ceku and Finance Minister Hekuran Murati.
