Before the incident, Brooklyn Koury, 22, was working hard on her growing modeling career. She was even preparing to film the first television commercial when everything suddenly changed.
Brooklyn's face was dramatically changed on November 3, 2020, when it was attacked by a relative's pit bull while visiting the family in Arizona.
“Maybe it was over me for 30 seconds, just shaking my head like a toy, tearing off my upper lip and pieces of nose”, she recalls while she talked about Buzzfeed recently.
In a post in the Instagram at the time, the model admitted that there was fear about its future and that it was not sure if she would be able to smile again.
It's crazy how your life can change so dramatically in seconds”, she wrote.
I'm trying to stay as positive as possible in this whole situation, but I'll be honest that I'm afraid of my future, or if I'm ever able to smile again or eat normally. This is the beginning of a long road to recovery. Please remember to embrace someone you want today”
But instead of falling, the model returned to social networks even stronger.
She continued to post photos on the internet and the number of her followers at the Instagram tripled. Now, it has more than 58,000, and as it turns out, passing the traumatic event made it even closer to its followers.
She started making about $1000 for the sponsor post and reached a series of big brand deals with companies like DC Shoes.
Brooklyn even opened the channel on YouTube, where it documented its way back to recovery with the first video that collected nearly 250,000 hits, broadcast Clankosova.tv.
