Giant Mitsubishi voices interest in building gas power plants in northern Macedonia

The news has revealed SeeNet, where it was reported that Mitsubishi is exploring possibilities for building a thermal power plant near the Manastir coal plant, with a view to starting operating in early 2026, has stressed ESM at a press conference this week.
Mitsubishi representatives have also expressed readiness to build other thermal power plants envisioned under the plan for transition towards the renewable resources of Northern Macedonia, it is said at the conference.
In the past three years, Mitsubishi has invested about 2 billion euros in the construction of gas power plants.
Meanwhile, according to its nationally defined contributions to the Paris Agreement, Northern Macedonia has pledged to cut emissions for 51% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels.
